"Perc" has been listed by some Environmental Protection Agencies as a possible carcinogen and hazardous ground and air pollutant. Some feel that it is harmful to the environment or to you.

Wash on the Rocks have proudly invested in new state-of-the art and latest dry cleaning equipment which uses a non-toxic, safe hydrocarbon dry cleaning solvent. Hydrocarbon does offer a health and environmental profile that is better than perc and is known to be less aggressive to your garments. These solvents are also labeled as greener options because they are recognized as less toxic than perc and are odorless.

Hydrocarbon solvents are being positioned as a “green” alternative to “Perc” because they biodegrade within days when exposed to air, water and earth. About 15% of the estimated 25,000 dry cleaners in the U.S. have already switched from “Perc” to synthetic hydrocarbons.

Recycling

We at Wash on the Rocks care for “our” environment. Whenever possible bring your own hangers or bring your laundry in your laundry basket instead of plastic bags.

Please do not throw away any good hangers! We accept all hangers and poly bags back for recycling.
